Obviously, this is not perfect. Rachel’s Kil Huh percentage should be a little higher. And it’s a numerical impossibility that Jeff’s KH percentage is lower than his hitting percentage. I’m still working out the kinks.
Once again, we find a reporter is making up things out of thin air. Surprise, surprise… Regardless of whatever fiction you want to relate to the good folks on PYD, all I did was to point out that an error is a judgment call. A fielder can make an error; however, if said fielder had no chance at making a play, it’s counted as an error against the fielder but a hit for the batter. All I remember saying was that it’s a judgment call.
But, glad to have not just one but two stats named after me. I am all for giving voice to those who feel they’ve been cheated or wronged–particularly by the PYD manager, who is often figuring out the best way to crush his empty beer can.
Cheers,
Kil
P.S. Vock, if you are going to create a salty-at-the-manager-stat feel free to name that one after me too.
Being a reporter is tough. You write a good-natured story (or two) about a minor dust-up between the old statkeeper (Ivan) and a player, and both of them turn on you. Then you post stats from the new statkeeper (Pauline) and you get salty comments directed at you.
Hey everyone, just a request to help me out with stats. If you see anything that’s glaringly wrong — like it’s impossible that you only have X number of total bases when you’ve had 10 hits and 4 of them were home runs — please let me know and I’ll correct it for next time. Thanks!
how ’bout a stat for angry confrontations with person from opposing team per game. 1.0 represents one angry confrontation per game, the average that each player should carry. I’m probably in the 7’s.
If you get a negative point for all the times you refuse to make the right call (or any call) in an effort to not antagonize the other team, Jim Albrittain would be well into the negatives.
How could a guy have 4 runs but only 7 total bases? Does that stat mean the number of times after games I end up going in to the field and grabbing the bases while the rest of you get hopped up on the light beers?
Total bases is the number of bases reached on HITS. So out of your 6 hits, you had 5 singles (5 bases) and 1 double (2 bases). 7 total bases. But I’m glad you asked about it because when I looked over your stats, it turned out I had missed an at-bat (hey, I’m only human, and tracking this all isn’t easy). You’ve actually had 10, not 9. We’ll have to drop your hitting percentage from .667 to .600.
Anybody else got a problem with their stats?
No seriously, if anyone sees anything funny, let me know. I want to this to be as correct as possible.

I’ve had two KO’s this season and three TKO’s.
